EDMR Therapy

edmr

What is EDMR?

EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing.

It is a form of therapy that helps people heal from trauma or distressing life experiences, one of 2 recommended by the World Health Organisation.

It is an effective form of therapy across many areas including PTSD, anxiety, depression, substance abuse and addictions, pain, chronic illness, grief and other stress and trauma related issues.
Simple techniques such as bilateral eye movements, tapping and audio stimulation help awaken your body’s natural coping mechanisms and unblock your stagnant emotions so you can reprogram your mind and gain a new perspective.

CM is a long-term talk therapy that integrates aspects of developmental psychology, linguistics and neuroscience and is primarily used for treating disorders of self.

It’s a process of self-discovery that will help you look at any deep-rooted feelings, thoughts, beliefs or memories that may be holding you back from living your best life. Together, we’ll explore your repetitive thoughts, behaviour patterns and past experiences, so you can learn ways to change or replace them with more helpful, healthy habits and start creating the life you want to live. Deep down you already have the answers, together we will uncover them.

The recommended programme for CM consists of weekly or twice weekly sessions for a minimum of 2 years, maybe longer depending on the severity of impairment and trauma history.

It works best for disorders that exhibit fragmented states of mind, including borderline personality disorder, treatment resistant depression, repeated self-harm, somatoform and anxiety disorders and PTSD.

Further information on CM can be found here

I will be offering sessions to a small number of people at a reduced rate throughout the duration of the training programme.
